I did receive a reply back from Brother International to that very problem with their suggested solution. I thought I would share it here for those that may be in need of this same fix. Since the ControlCenter3's Modern style skin requires Adobe Flash, it will no longer function after this update. Instead, use the Classic style skin, which doesn't require Adobe Flash to function.

I have included a link to the FAQ answer that should assist you to adjust this setting. Please follow all the steps listed in the following link:. I hope that this helps anybody else with this same issue as it did fix my problem. I thank you very much for all the help. This is Brother's fix. I wasn't going to post this here but I'm stuck and since it was Microsoft's update that caused the issue, I thought I might see if you had any suggestions, even if it's a different software. It uses a program called Control Center 3 which operates the scanner to my printer.

It was working up to I believe January 16th, but as of January 18th, after getting a Microsoft update for Windows 10, this program no longer works. I could be wrong obviously. I have uninstalled the printer, installed it back on, done all that I can think of with no success. Can you tell me a if this is why my scanner no longer works and b a way to fix it or c a different program to use in place of the Control Center 3. I have searched for something to replace it but I'm not finding anything that sounds like it's for a printer.

Many people are reporting the same problem, you are correct, this is caused by end of support for the Adobe Flash Player, and that Brother ControlCenter3 is based on the Flash Player Adobe announced the end of Flash 2 years ago and gave all developers, including Brother, 2 years to change the functionality of their software, Brother have not updated their software, I have checked and so far, Brother have not released a new version of that software.

Thank you also for the alternate choice software. I have installed it. It took me awhile to get it downloaded because the Microsoft Store kept telling me 'my page was not available and to try again later'.

I sent to message to them for advice I've had this issue since I got Windows 10 installed where the deal won't let me log in - got some help making my account work so now I can get in, just can't do anything once in. Anyway, sorry for the unneeded detail. So, I did get that 'Windows Scan' program downloaded and installed. I know it's not scanning at max resolution but I'm sure there's a way to adjust so I'll play with that.

Is there a way to either get it into the startup taskbar can't remember what it's called - the area at bottome far right beside the clock that has some things visible and some that you have to click the arrow to see - example the antivirus, Windows Security, Safely Remove Hardware or is there a way to get it to have it's own launchable icon for on the screen that looks like Windows 7 or 8 - the screen you get when you right click on the start button, not the screen that when you left click takes you to the [I believe it's called] live tiles.

I would like to make like a shortcut to put in a folder with my printer folder so I don't have to go hunting every time I want to use the scanner. Thanks again for your help.
